The Apple brand and logo are named the most valuable brand in the world, according to Interbrand’s annual Best Global Brands report, reported by The Guardian.
The Silicon Valley company, already the largest company in the world-with a stock valuation of $ 591b-has seen its brand value increase by 21% over the past 12 months, outpacing Google, Coca-Cola and IBM.
Google’s brand value rise 15% to USD 107b in second place, followed by Coca-Cola up 3% to USD 81.5 B, IBM (USD 72.2 b) and Microsoft (USD 45.5 B).
Facebook is the biggest boost on the chart, boosting its brand value by 86% to billion 14.3 billion and ranking 29th on the chart ahead of long-standing global corporate names such as Volkswagen, Kellogg and Ford.
Jez Frampton, CEO of Interbrand, which is part of the group advertising the global Omnicom, said to the Guardian: “Profiting immensely from the growth of digital technology, and then to mobile, brands smart as Apple has become stronger. New assassins-category, such as Google, Amazon and Facebook have restored the expectations of our customers and significantly increased the level of brand experiences.”
