Sony STRDN1080 – A new dimension in sound with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
Dolby Atmos uses ceiling speakers or upward shooting to produce a multidimensional and engaging sound that is a combination with the best cinemas. DTS:X literally pushes the boundaries of what you’d expect from home theater. Represents three-dimensional images that conventional processing cannot match. It also fits easily with the configuration of existing speakers.
Optimized for 4K UHD and HDR
The Sony STRDN1080 has flexible HDMI connectivity on all six inputs and both outputs. Supports HDCP 2.2 and HDR, which means you can play Blu-ray UHD discs and stream UltraHD videos in the highest quality. It also features 4K scale, which gives you the most detailed image on the 4K TV from all sources. HDMI jacks allow 4K step, for seamless switching and display without the need to turn on the receiver.
Powerful sound
When it comes to power, the latest Sony STR-DN1080 is as impressive as ever. Sony is able to issue 165W per channel at 6 ohms, allowing great flexibility in the choice of speakers and room size. The Sony STRDN1080 uses a solid frame and beam frame for vibration resistance and the lowest sound distortion possible. It also uses specially selected components, equipped with ES-quality welding, for state-of-the-art sound quality.
Bi-amp for higher quality sound
This Sony 7.2 receiver can also be used in bi-amp mode. With the channels changed to 5.1, bi-amp provides a separate amplification for the front speaker bass and the high units (bi-wirable front speakers are required). The end result provides tighter control and wider, dynamic sound in both stereo and surround modes.
Compatible with high-resolution audio
In addition to providing in-room stirring power, the Sony STRDN1080 also supports high-resolution audio. This offers a much more natural sound than standard audio. STR-DN1080 supports 5.6 MHz DSD decoding over USB and network connections.
Built-in Google Chromecast
Chromecast lets you stream music, podcasts, and audio apps, including Google Play, at the touch of a button. Having built-in saves battery life on your phone, as your phone’s Bluetooth transmission system is not used for this purpose. Being able to broadcast directly from the cloud also offers the best audio quality.

Download SongPal for your smartphone or tablet and take control of your music collection. Simply connect via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and you’ll have seamless access to all your favorite tracks, whether they’re stored on your PC, server or online music service.
