Soundbar Review – Sennheiser AMBEO Perfect 3D sound

-

The Sennheiser AMBEO soundbar has a unique 3D mode that greatly improves surround performance, ideal for movies. Its overall sound profile is quite accurate, but it lacks a bit in the bass range. While the bar still produces a good amount of bass, it is audible lower than other frequencies at the same volume, giving it a disappointing feel in low-bass stereo content such as some music genres. On the bright side, it has a room correction feature that fits your room and play the voices in precision and clarity.
The Sennheiser AMBEO soundbar is a 5.1.4 configuration with 13 speakers that offers an impressive immersive experience for a standalone bar. This system has a unique 3D mode that helps sounds come from time to time, without the need for wireless speakers. The bar gets very strong, but unfortunately, it’s a bit on the light side of the bass, especially with the stereo content. On the other hand, it has a lot of inputs and supports pretty much all audio formats.Sennheiser AMBEO Soundbar

With 13 high-end drivers, the AMBEO soundbar offers a 5.1.4 audio experience, also producing extremely deep 30 Hz bass without the need for an additional subwoofer. And thanks to the advanced calibration of the room, it immerses you in a studio-quality sound adapted to the details of your living room for an unforgettable 3D experience.
It’s good for music. The stereo frequency response of this soundbar without AMBEO mode is quite disappointing due to the considerable volume of lower bass. However, it works quite well for music genres that don’t have that much bass. In addition, it has a room correction function to adjust its sound quality depending on your room. The sound stage is decent and the bar works well at maximum volume, which is quite loud.Sennheiser AMBEO Soundbar
The Sennheiser AMBEO soundbar has less than the sound enhancement functions, but has the most important ones. It has a room correction feature, which means that when using the included microphone, the soundbar will apply some audio corrections depending on the room. It also has a dialogue enhancement feature with ‘News’ audio mode, which makes voices clearer and easier to understand. There’s also a complete parametric equalizer to customize the sound to your liking, and the AMBEO 3D mode is really impressive for immersive content.Sennheiser AMBEO SoundbarVery decent soundbar for movies. When using AMBEO 3D mode, this Sennheiser soundbar is quite impressive and offers an immersive listening experience with movies thanks to the high number of speakers and support for Atmos content. It works well with surround audio movies in general, and you’ll get the impression that the objects are around and above you, making it great for a separate bar.Photo:Sennheiser
The Sennheiser AMBEO soundbar is very large and heavy. Not only does it not fit between the legs of a 55″ TV stand, but it most likely hinders the lower view of the screen as it is quite high. You’d better mount both the bar and TV on the wall or place it on a separate table slightly lower than the TV table.
