The Honor 10 Lite is definitely a flashy mobile device. While coming in standard black and silver colors that shine on the classic model “Aurora ” Honor, there is now also a blue sky option that passes by a blue baby on the bottom for silver on top. I think it looks pretty good.
However, it proved to be a fingerprint magnet during the time I had with it.
There is a fingerprint reader nested in the upper third of the device with a dual camera configuration of 13MP and 2MP sitting in the upper left. These sensors have aperture f/1.8 and F/2.4 respectively. The 13MP sensor is the main camera, while the second is mainly used for depth detection.
The glass on the back feels pretty Premium, but the aluminum sides feel a bit cheap. It is also beautiful light in 162 grams.
The Honor 10 Lite has a 6.21 inch 1080p LCD display with a small notch waterdrop style design. This notch accommodates a 24MP selfie camera with an F/2.0 aperture. You can recognize up to eight different selfie scenarios and react appropriately, adding things like color adjustments and skin softening. It also offers different studio lighting modes.
The screen is not incredibly disappointing, but it makes it clear that this is not a tip device. There is a noticeable difference in quality between this 10 Lite panel and the Honor 10. Although the colors are quite deep and incisive, the screen feels almost opaque, and could definitely be sharper.
The clear sign that it is a budget device comes in the form of a microUSB port on the bottom of the phone. A single lower triple speaker and a headphone jack sit on either side of the door. The headphone connector seems to have become a budget feature, but I’m very glad to see that it’s included anyway.
The other budget project is the phone specs. The honor 10 Lite is powered by Huawei Kirin 710 chipset Mobile, 3GB RAM and 64GB storage. This will not come close to competing with the flagship of Huawei Kirin 980 or even the Kirin 970 last year, although the octa-Core processor must run decently for daily activities. However, we will have to wait to review the device in its entirety before we can make a final verdict. There is a MicroSD card slot on the device, which can extend the total storage capacity up to 512 GB.
The Honor 10 Lite runs on Emui 9.1, based on Android 9.0 (Pie) . Emui has a fairly controversial user interface — most people love or hate it. The phone comes with the standard soft keys of Android and no drawer applications, but users can switch to navigating with gestures and also activate the application drawer if they wish.
We will not have official European pricing for the device until it is officially launched in the UK, but the phone costs 799 dirhams in the U.A.Emirates, about 192 euros or $217. This is about half the cost of Honor 10, so this could be a great option for fans of the company on a tighter budget. photo: Honor
