Easy tips – Erasing the hard drive data and reinstalling Windows
Info Notice: Keep in mind that using the steps below will erase all of the data on your hard drive and make it just like brand new. Once the actions below have been finished, you will not be capable to reverse the steps if you want to recover possible lost data.
Windows 10
Open the Start Menu.
Choose the Settings option.
In the Settings screen, select the Update and security option.
Select the Recovery option in the left navigation pane.
Just click the Get Started button in the *Reset this PC* area.
Choose either the Keep my files or Remove everything option, depending if you would like to protect your personal data files or erase everything and start over.
Follow the requests to start the recovery process.
Windows will be totally reset, either keeping your personal files undamaged or removing everything, depending on the choice you selected.
Windows 7
Insert the Windows 7 installation CD in the CD-ROM drive and restart the PC.
When you see the message *Press any key to boot from CD* press a key on the computer keyboard.
Press the Enter key at the Windows Setup welcome screen.
When prompted, press any key on your keyboard.
On the *Install Windows* page, pick your preferred language and additional preferences,after that click Next.
On the License Agreement page, accept the terms and agreements and click Next.
On the Installation Type screen, select the Custom option.
Choose the Drive Options *advanced* option.
For Disk 0, delete all partitions. When all partitions have been erased, you should notice a single entry known as *Unallocated space*.
Click on Disk 0 and choose Next.
The Windows installation procedure will begin by creating a new partition, formatting the partition, and installing Windows on the hard drive. The formatting procedure will erase the hard drive just before installing Windows.
