How Do I Fix It When There is No Audio on My COMPUTER?

We suggest you follow the fixes in order, as they move from simple, easy fixes that resolve most sound problems to more special solutions.

-Look at that the audio speakers are plugged in, powered on, and that the volume level dial is set at an hearable level.

-Check that the speakers are connected to your COMPUTER. Many connect over USB or maybe a 3.5mm audio jack (such as headphones). Desktop computers have several 3.5mm audio jacks. The audio-out jack is usually colored green. If it’s not, or the green audio-out jack does not work, you may possibly need to read the pc’s manual to locate the proper output.

-Verify the volume level and mute options in Microsoft Windows.

-Discover and click the Speakers icon on the right-hand side of the Windows taskbar. It will open the Volume Slider. Slide it towards the right to maximize the volume.

Additionally, you can use the mute, volume-down, and volume-up buttons on your computer keyboard.

The Volume level slider in Windows may work separately of the volume dial on your pc speakers. It is most often true on a desktop PC with external speakers. Be absolutely sure to look at both!

-Click the Speakers icon on the right hand side of the Windows taskbar (as you did in the previous part). The active audio device will be shown above the Volume Slider. It should match the device you plan to use.

If it does not, extend the list of audio devices by choosing the up arrow in older versions of Windows or, in Windows 11, the speaker symbol to the right of the volume level slider.

Pick the audio device you plan to use if it’s listed. The change will take result instantly.

You can also check out and modify the output device by performing a Windows Search for Sound Settings. Select Sound Settings from the list of results. The Output drop-down box will be the very first choice listed in the Sound Settings menu.

-Shut down software running on your Windows machine one by one. Start with software that has a Window open on the Windows desktop.

Check if the pc’s sound is working after closing each problem. It will let you separate any software leading to an problem with your computer’s sound.

-Restart your personal computer. This procedure will fix any lingering problems caused by open software or a short-term settings problem in Windows settings.

-Check out the Windows Audio Troubleshooter. Execute a Windows Search for Audio Troubleshooter. Choose Find and fix problems with playing sound from the list of final results. Follow the troubleshooter’s on-screen information and perform any solutions it advises.

-Update your computer’s audio driver in Windows. Performing this will fix problems caused by an out-of-date or not working audio driver.

-Look at a different audio device that connects over some other audio output. If you are using speakers connected to a 3.5mm audio jack, try a USB headset as a substitute.

If the new audio device works, there might be a computer hardware defect with the earlier audio device or the audio output.

-If the issue continues, it’s probably because of a hardware problem. While some older desktop personal computers may have a sound card, most modern computers use audio hardware built straight into the motherboard that the user can not repair. You will need to contact the pc’s manufacturer or an individual pc repair shop.
