New VW Tiguan-one of the most secure car on the road

The newest VW Tiguan, now in its 2nd generation, promises to exceed its predecessor’s sales success by virtue of having been enhanced in every single measurable aspect. The brand new Tiguan is the company’s first sports utility car based on the
advanced MQB (Modular Transverse Matrix) platform and sets fresh standards in
design, comfort, convenience and capability.vw-tiguan-1__

The front is dominated by the horizontal grille and car headlights. It sports a high waistline,built-in door handles, well known wheel-arches and an equally big rear-end.In comparison with the previous model, the new Tiguan
is lower (33 mm), wider (33 mm) and longer (60 mm), and sports a longer
wheelbase (77 mm).
Although the new Tiguan looks a lot more robust and confident compared with
the previous model, it is more aerodynamic with a Cd figure of only 0,32. This
has been accomplished by way of smart design and style details on the body and under-body.

The Tiguan may be specified with many optional extras to improve its comfort, performance and look. The new three-zone climate control system provides custom climate control for driver and passengers.
Additional interior options include a panoramic sunroof, head-up display,
Active Info Display, adaptive cruise control with front support, App-connect,ambient light package, leather seats with electric realignment and keyless
access (incorporating engine starting system and an electric tailgate).
Sound and connectivity can be increased via the optionally available DynAudio Premium sound system and a variety of enhanced infotainment systems.vw-tiguan-2__

The VW Tiguan will originally be powered only by the company’s lauded turbocharged 1,4-litre TSI, in two states of
tune. The entry-model offers 92 kW and 200 N.m of torque, and is mated with a six-speed manual
transmission. It requires 10,5 secs to sprint to 100 km/h and has a top speed of 190 km/h. The more
powerful 1,4-litre TSI has 110 kW and 250 N.m of torque on offer, and comes mated with Volkswagen’s
innovative slick-shifting six-speed DSG transmission. This unit requires 9,5 seconds to reach 100 km/h and
runs out of steam at 200 km/h.
Both engines (92 kW and 110 kW) feature innovative BlueMotion technology, which includes stop/start and
battery-regeneration systems to further enhance effectiveness and reduce emissions. Both have a combined
fuel consumption of 6,1 L/100 km and emissions of 139 g/km (110 kW variant: 140 g/km).
Before year-end, the range will be extended with a 2,0-litre TDI in three states of tune – with 81 kW,
105 kW and 130 kW – as well as a range-{topping|leading} 2,0-litre turbocharged petrol engine (162 kW).

Active Info Display
The Active Info Display operates in mixture with the radio and navigation displays to provide a complementary
interface. There are six different views available for the optional 12,3-inch
screen.Exclusive to the Tiguan is an off-road display profile that shows the steering angle and direction in which
you’re heading.

Navigation is also supported by the optionally available, retractable head-up
display built in into the dashboard. Using laser-etched texturing, driver info(travel speed,
speed limit and direction arrows for
navigation) is projected straight onto the display and into the driver’s line
of sight.

The new Tiguan features Volkswagen’s most recent Modular Infotainment Platform (MIB) systems.Standard
fitment over the range includes the five-inch touchscreen technology- radio/CD “composition colour”system with
MP3 compatibility, 8 speakers and aux connection. The connectivity package offers Bluetooth and a
USB interface.
The MQB system allows the Tiguan to incorporate much more active and passive safety systems and features
over its predecessor. The Tiguan is therefore one of the most secure car on the road and achieved a five-star
rating from EuroNCAP.Regular features contain six airbags (driver and front passenger, curtain and front
side), ABS, ASR (anti-spin regulator),ESP with counter-steer support, XDS(transverse differential lock), MSR
(engine drag torque control) and trailer stabilization, auto-hold function including hill-hold assist, and
fatigue detection.vw-tiguan-3__
The new Tiguan is the first Volkswagen to offer an active bonnet, which reduces the risk of injury
to pedestrians and bike riders. When contact is made with the bumper,it is lifted by about 50 mm (within
22 milliseconds), which increases the contact distance between the
engine and bonnet. This significantly reduces the possibility of serious head injuries.
