Find out what difference Dolby Vison’s powerful Duo and HDR10+ make with the Philips 50PUS7555.
Philips P5 Perfect Picture Engine takes full advantage of 4K UHD
With enormous processing power, the philips P5 Engine offers the best possible image from this 4K UHD TV, whatever the source. Enjoy the deepest blacks and brightest whites, the brightest and brightest colors and natural and realistic skin tones. You also get the most fluid and sharpest images from Philips with incredible detail and depth, in sports, film or any other genre, at any time and from any source.
Optimized HDR with HDR10+
For a very high-quality image, HDR10+ offers scene-by-scene HDR mastering for the truest and most accurate HDR imaging technology to date. With HDR10, each scene is optimized, which means that the maximum amount of detail is displayed, even in the brightest or darkest moments. The 50PUS7555 is also compatible with the standard HDR10 and HLG formats.
Dolby Vision for dramatic images
In addition to being compatible with HDR10+, this Philips 50PUS7555 TV is also compatible with Dolby Vision, a leading format in Hollywood and in cinemas around the world. Dolby Vision also adjusts the image to take full advantage of the features of each screen and presents an image optimized for each scene in specially mastered content. The maximum brightness of the Philips PUS7555, which supports Dolby Vision, HDR 10+, HLG, and HDR 10 formats, is 350 nits. This is a very respectable price for a basic TV.We think that its HDR performance is far better than that of some of the main competitors. The targets are not burned out, cropped, or compressed while retaining details in bright areas.
It supports Dolby Vision, which is uncommon in products in this price range and is often found higher up the line. The TV alerts us with a notification on the screen when we play something in this format.
The P5 image processor, which powers the PUS7555, is renowned for doing a superb job at displaying clear, detailed images. The PUS6754 came with the earlier Pixel Precise UHD processor in the series we reviewed last year.
The Philips 50PUS7555 reproduces a somewhat restricted range of colors. The panel has a limited color range and an 8 bits plus FRC color depth. 90% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum, as suggested by the UHD Alliance for modern HDR TVs, is not covered by it. But for this range, this is the usual.
Dolby Atmos-compatible sound
With Dolby Atmos decoding, this 50PUS7555 Philips TV has the potential to deliver a more immersive sound with a truly cinematic feel. Other sound improvements include Clear Dialogue for advanced voice, night mode to reduce dynamic volume, and improved bass for richer sound.
