Depending on your priorities, the Marshall Emberton is the ideal or slightly expensive portable Bluetooth speaker. We’ll explain: For $149, the Emberton is a little smaller and less powerful than the competition. But their compact size can be seen as an advantage over these larger, bulky models. When the volume is maximized, the bass can lose some weight, but the Emberton still offers surprisingly powerful audio performance for its size. On the other hand, it has an elegant design and is waterproof. If you are willing to tote around a larger speaker, you can get lower and power for the price. But many travelers prefer the size of Emberton to the larger options of JBL and Sony.
The brick-shaped Emberton is available in black, with a gray metal mesh grille on the front, along with the Marshall family’s white lettering logo. It’s quite compact at 2.7 from 6.3 from 3.0 inches (HWD), but surprisingly heavy (1.5 pounds) for its size. Marshall manages to preserve the retro look of previous models, giving the speaker a slightly modern look. There is a red digital LED reading on the top panel (for battery status) provided by the modern one, and a central control panel with a brass finish for a retro touch. The speaker supports Bluetooth 5.0 and internally, the 10-watt dual controllers are powered by a Class D amplifier.
Small, stylish, waterproof and with more power than you’d expect from such a small speaker, the Marshall Emberton is an ideal travel companion. In this price range, however, it has serious competition, including the excellent new $150 Sony SRS-XB33 and the $140 JBL Charge 4, both more powerful, but also much larger. For less money, the $100 Sony SRS-XB23 is also a strong option to consider. Ultimately, your decision here comes down to style and portability. If powerful audio is key, there are other waterproof models that bring lower and volume to the party. But if you like the Marshall aesthetic and want something really compact, the Emberton won’t disappoint.
Small enough for your bag
A little bigger than a drink you can, the Marshall Emberton is the perfect speaker to wear. With a built-in rechargeable battery, it’s the perfect speaker for festivals and wherever you take your travels. At about half the volume, the battery life is more than 20 hours.
Big enough to look like a Marshall
For a small speaker, the Emberton has a powerful punch. Using sound technology called True Stereophonic, this amazing little speaker offers 360-degree sound diffusion, giving everyone the best place in the house. Twin passive radiators improve bass, filling the lower end for richer sound.
Strong enough for your travels – WATERPROOF IPX7
To make the Emberton even better for outdoor music, this portable Bluetooth speaker meets IPX7 ratings for water resistance. This high level of water resistance makes it the ideal speaker for the pool, beach or even to have nearby when you are washing your car. Photo:Marshall
Fresh style
Though cute and very compact in size, the Emberton is each bit of a Marshall in terms of style. From the smooth-edged housing to the grille and retro-style badge, the Emberton is the perfect miniature Marshall speaker. If you prefer hands-on control to using your phone, the multi-direction control knob is a clean touch. Use it to play, pause, skip tracks, and adjust the volume, all without having to touch your phone.
Keep the Marshall quality sound close, wherever you are, with the compact portable speaker Emberton.
