VisiPics is a tool that scans your computer for duplicate image files and deletes them if you don’t need them anymore.
The user interface of the program is simple and easy to use. You can start by selecting a directory in the TreeView where you want to search for duplicate files.
Add it to the queue with the simple click of a button or using the “drag and Drop” method, set the settings and press the play-like button.
VisiPics starts a scan process during which no other action can be performed (including cancellation). The results are displayed on the left side of the window.
You can now mark or ignore files and groups of files, change the name, move, or delete the selected items. However, in some cases you need to set the permission levels to get rid of a particular file [especially if it belongs to Windows], and this can not be done from inside VisiPics.
You can also set the settings for the “filter” (strict, basic, loose), “charger” (i.e., say VisiPics to load images of a particular size) or “automatic selection” (that is, choose which images will be selected First, with file types without compress, lower resolution, or smaller file sizes).
In addition, you can “ignore” and “uncheck” files, allow for slower processing and VisiPics to scan rotations of 90 degrees, as well as display total of remaining files, uploaded images, images to compare, and duplicate groups.
Minimum system requirements:
- Pentium class processor
- At least 128 MB RAM
- 32bit versions of Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Vista, Seven.
- VisiPics has been tested successfully with Wine on Linux
- Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6 SP 1
The software uses a small amount of system resources, comes with a Help file, which could have contained more information on how to use VisiPics, and is not very easy to use by beginners. However, the work is done and there are no errors during our tests.
