While it might appear as a slight drawback due to its size, one of the primary criticisms of the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 is its lack of bass authority. No standalone soundbar can replicate the thunderous impact of a dedicated subwoofer, but the Sonos Arc fares better due to its substantial size and additional drivers. Sony’s HT-A7000 goes even further in emulating a subwoofer, though it still struggles to convincingly reproduce the deepest frequencies.

Even in the lower midrange, for both music and cinematic content, the Smart Soundbar 900 noticeably lacks a powerful punch. This is a consideration you must take into account, especially when juxtaposed with its more modest size. For some users, the decision may hinge on the dimensions of their room or even their TV console.

Bose’s Smart Soundbar 900 boasts a slender and exceptionally stylish design, convenience features like built-in smart capabilities and multi-room audio, and expansive sound that pleasantly fills the room far beyond what its size would imply. While it may not match the sheer scale and impact of many competing Dolby Atmos soundbars, it compensates by occupying less space and offering a contemporary aesthetic for your mantle. Though it comes with a relatively high price tag, it offers an accessible path to enter the Bose ecosystem and provides numerous compelling reasons to do so.

If you desire a larger soundstage in a larger yet similarly minimalist setup, the Sonos Arc presents an evident solution. It incorporates nearly all the features of the Smart Soundbar 900 (excluding Bluetooth) into its versatile ecosystem and serves as an overall more capable sound system. For those more inclined toward high-octane A/V experiences than versatility, Sony’s HT-A7000, while pricier, is significantly better equipped for such adventures.

You can also find rubber feet at the bottom of the bar to help hold it in place. There is also a glass plate on the top, which gives it a very premium feel.
The Bose 900 soundbar is a great for music. Its ADAPTiQ room correction function can automatically optimize audio playback depending on the room you are in. It has a neutral and balanced sound profile that is suitable for many different musical genres. Unfortunately, it strives to play a thundering and rumbling bass, which may disappoint fans of heavy bass genres such as EDM and hip hop. You can customize the sound using bass and treble settings, but it lacks a full EQ.
The Bose Soundbar 900 is good for dialogue focused content such as TV shows and podcasts. Thanks to its discrete central channel, it is possible to accurately locate the dialogue in a precise position in the sound image. Its balanced midrange reproduces the voice with clarity and detail, too. There is also a dialogue enhancement mode to make the voices sharper. Unfortunately, it lacks an automatic volume mode, which can be disappointing for listeners who watch a lot of TV at night.

It performs a neutral and balanced audio profile suitable for listening to many different types of audio content, and there is also an ADAPTiQ camera correction function to optimize audio playback according to your space. While it has some bass and treble settings to help you customize your sound, unfortunately, it lacks more premium sound enhancement features like a graphic equalizer. Netflix subscribers in Japan have access to the world’s most reviewed and award-winning TV and film content
The Czech Republic is second, South Korea is third, the United Kingdom is fourth, and Switzerland is fifth
The UK takes the first place when looking exclusively at countries with the best TV series
Japan’s Netflix library contains more high-quality TV and movie content than anywhere else in the world, according to a new uSwitch study.

The research calculated which countries have access to the most reviewed and awarded TV content and movies by adding the IMBD scores for each TV series and movie in each country’s library. This was combined with the total number of awards won and nominations and Uswitch then turned the grand total into a Netflix catalog score of a possible 100.

Where to watch the best TV and movies on Netflix

With an IMDB total of 27,284, over 19,000 awards won and over 40,000 nominations across its Netflix catalog, Japan receives the maximum of 100 Netflix catalog points for its total score of 86,961, the highest of all countries.

The Czech Republic is second on the list with a Netflix catalog score of 97.61. In third place is South Korea with a score of 94.02, the UK has a score of 93.78 which lands in fourth place, and in fifth place, is Switzerland with a score of 94.74.

Interestingly, 50% of the top 30 list consists of European countries, with the United States barely making an appearance in 29th place.

Netflix was first available in Japan in 2015 and the top five IMDB TV series and movies in the Japanese library are: Breaking Bad (IMDB score of 9.5) Shawshank Redemption (9.3), Our Planet (9.3), Avatar: The Last Airbender (9.2) and Rick And Morty (9.2).

Looking purely at TV shows, the data shows UK subscribers have the best quality TV shows to choose between on Netflix. With a total IMDB score of 11,318, more than 5,000 award wins and over 13,000 nominations, the UK scores almost 2,000 more points more than Belgium, in second place.  

Thailand makes its first appearance in the research, claiming third place with a score of 94.49. Fourth place goes to Singapore, whilst Switzerland claims fifth place with a Netflix catalogue score of 94.12.  

The United States also makes a comeback here, from an overall ranking position of 29th to the 8th best country for TV shows on Netflix.  

Breaking Bad, with an IMDB score of 9.5 is the best-reviewed TV series in the UK’s Netflix library right now. Just behind in second place, it’s Our Planet (9.3) and in equal fifth, it’s Rick and Morty, The Last Dance, and Avatar: The Last Airbender, all with an IMDB score of 9.2.
